The Honourable Company of Air Pilots is pleased to announce the availability of the scholarships listed below.
Current Scholarships
Flight Standards is a Registered Training Organisation based in Darwin, Northern Territory, right where the professional journey begins for many new Commercial Pilots. Flight Standards will offer two scholarships to attend their “GA Ready Course” which takes place over seven days at their base in Darwin and is valued at $4750 each. This is a great opportunity for anyone who intends to make this region the start point for their career.
UPRT Australia, based at Brisbane’s Archerfield airport, provides specialised training in Upset Prevention and Recovery, tailored for the individual, whether you are a brand new RAAus pilot, a multi-engine IFR charter pilot or a heavy jet Captain. UPRT are offering two scholarships to undertake their Level 1 course which takes 3 days, involves 4 flights and is valued at $3,950.00

Previously Offered Scholarships
Advanced Flight Theory is a Registered Training Organisation offering the highest quality, fully accredited Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) theory courses. Advanced Flight Theory will offer one scholarship that covers the cost of their full time ATPL theory course valued at $7,240.00
Southern Cross Flight Simulator Services, based at Goolwa Airport, approximately 65 Kms south of Adelaide, provides Instrument Rating Instruction in their CASA certified ELITE AT11i Simulator. SCFSS will provide three scholarships comprising 20 hours of instruction provided by one of the most experienced pilot/ instructors you are likely to encounter as the initial training towards an instrument rating and are worth $2600.00 each. The aircraft element will have to be undertaken at a flying school of your choice.
Southern Cross Flight Simulator Services will also provide three scholarships covering the simulator section of the Instrument Rating Proficiency Check.
Aviation Australia is a world class, registered training organisation, offering courses in cabin crew, engineering and pilot training to aspiring individuals, looking to pursue a career in the aviation industry.
Aviation Australia are pleased to offer a place on one of their Multi Crew Cooperation courses designed to provide you with the team skills you need to work effectively as a pilot on a modern-day flight deck in a multi-crew airline environment. At the end of the week long course you will receive a formal Certificate of Completion as well as logbook endorsement of competence. Many airlines consider completion of this course as an advantage in pilot applicants. The nominal value of the course is $6,000.
The Pinstripe Solutions Team offers tailored, aviation interview and confidence coaching services to assist their clients achieve their dream aviation career.
In 2023 Pinstripe Solutions will offer two scholarships: one for an aspiring commercial pilot and one for an aspiring Defence Force pilot. Each scholarship includes Interview Note Packs, Resume Templates and one-on-one Mentor Sessions with a member of the Pinstripe Solutions Team.
Each scholarship is valued at between $750.00 and $1000,00.
The ACE Training Centre, operated by Toll Helicopters, is located at Bankstown Aerodrome in NSW and is Australia’s world-class aviation and aeromedical training centre. The ACE continues to set new standards for safety, capability and education with a holistic training approach and integration of technical and non-technical training scenarios. Since its opening in 2016 the ACE Training Centre has trained over 2800 students and achieved a 98% completion rate.
The ACE Training Centre will provide the selected applicant with the opportunity to undertake a HUET & EBS course valued at $1300.00. Upon successful completion, the selected applicant will receive nationally recognised Statements of Attainment* in:
AVIF0038 Undertake helicopter underwater escape and survival; and
AVIF0039 Utilise emergency breathing system

The Honourable Company of Air Pilots, Education Trust is pleased to offer gliding scholarships for 2024-5. The scholarships will be co-hosted by Gliding Australia (GA), and delivered through an associated gliding club within Australia.
The scholarship is valued at $1500.00, which for an ab-initio student should cover approximately half the cost of achieving your first solo.
The Honourable Company of Air Pilots, Education Trust is supported by the membership of the Honourable Company Air Pilots, Australian Region. The Education Trust will provide a number of scholarships that best match the needs of deserving applicants.
Queensland Academic Awards

The Queensland Working Group of the Honourable Company of Air Pilots, in partnership with Aviation Australia and Airways Aviation sponsor a number of awards through the Queensland Aerospace Gateway to Industry Program and Griffith University.
Aviation High Pilot Excellence Award, sponsored by the Queensland Working Group.
Prof Bates, Head of the School of Aviation, University of Southern Queensland has generously donated an hour’s jet familiarisation flight in their B737 simulator to the winner. This award is presented annually.
The Aviation Safety Studies Award is presented annually to the most outstanding student at the School of Aviation, Griffith University.
