The Honourable Company of Air Pilots, Flight Experience and PinStripe Solutions are pleased to announce a joint initiative to offer our “Aspiring Pilots” scholarship program. The program is open to all high school students considering commercial aviation as a possible career.
The aviation industry is experiencing extraordinary growth and according to Boeing and Airbus, over 600,000 pilots are required in the next 20 years. This is more airline pilots than have been trained since the dawn of air travel!
The “Aspiring Pilots” program is designed to introduce young adults to the exciting world of aviation and to help inspire the next generation of commercial pilots. We plan to encourage and develop future professional pilots who demonstrate dedication and aptitude towards a flying career.

The Queensland Working Group of the Honourable Company of Air Pilots, in partnership with Aviation Australia and Airways Aviation sponsor a number of awards through the Queensland Aerospace Gateway to Industry Program and Griffith University.
Aviation High Pilot Excellence Award, sponsored by the Queensland Working Group.
Prof Bates, Head of the School of Aviation, University of Southern Queensland has generously donated an hour’s jet familiarisation flight in their B737 simulator to the winner. This award is presented annually.
The Aviation Safety Studies Award is presented annually to the most outstanding student at the School of Aviation, Griffith University.

2019 Scholarship Program
Application for our 2019 Scholarship Program are now closed. Successful applicants will be notified before 30 June. We expect to offer similar scholarships again, to those listed below, in 2020.
Aspeq provide assessment services for CASA aviation theory exams. Aspeq will provide 2 scholarships covering exam fees for the first attempt at either Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot Licence subjects.
Advanced Flight Theory is a Registered Training Organisation offering the highest quality, fully accredited Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) theory courses. Advanced Flight Theory will offer one scholarship that covers the cost of their full time ATPL theory course valued at $4990.00
Online Aviation Theory offers online, self study courses covering theory subjects up to Airline Transport Pilot Licence standard and has won the Royal Aeronautical Society and Australian Flying Award for Best Flying Training Organisation of the Year. Online Aviation Theory will offer one scholarship that covers access to their online study portal up to ATPL level valued at $1300.00.
Southern Cross Flight Simulator Services, based at Goolwa Airport, approximately 65 Kms south of Adelaide, provides Instrument Rating Instruction in their CASA certified ELITE AT11i Simulator. SCFSS will provide two scholarships comprising 20 hours of instruction provided by one of the most experienced pilot/ instructors you are likely to encounter as the initial training towards an instrument rating and are worth $2600.00 each. The aircraft element will have to be undertaken at a flying school of your choice.
The Honourable Company of Air Pilots, Education Trust is supported by the membership of the Honourable Company Air Pilots, Australian Region. The Education Trust will provide one scholarship to cover the cost of a self study course at either CPL or ATPL standard plus the cost of exams for those subjects.
